Amy Bright Gilhuly Joins AdSource as Senior Projects Manager and Content Developer Naples-FL- Amy Bright Gilhuly has joined AdSource, a full-service advertising and marketing firm, as Senior Projects Manager and Content Developer.  In her position with the agency, Bright Gilhuly will be responsible for managing a variety advertising projects and developing content across digital, print and broadcast mediums for agency clientele.
Bright Gilhuly brings a diverse skill set to AdSource having experience in marketing account
management, creative development and copy writing, public speaking, public relations, vendor and customer relationship-building, social media and media relations with work experience for organizations that includes Nortel Networks, The National Federation of Independent Business and, locally, Naples Daily News. She understands the detailed flow of advertising agency production work from experience as Print Traffic Manager at a mid-sized Chicago agency, Garlfield-Linn, which serviced regional and national clients such as Yamaha, Popeye’s Chicken, and Ecko Bakeware. She has implemented and assisted in successful marketing strategies in both the non- and for-profit sectors. Most recently, Bright Gilhuly managed all aspects of marketing and advertising for Epic Food Concepts, parent company of Angelina’s Ristorante in Bonita Springs and AGAVE Bar & Grill in Naples, FL.
A native of suburban Detroit, Bright Gilhuly was raised in what she calls an “advertising household,” with a father who sold typesetting and other graphical services to  advertising agencies, including giants like Leo Burnett and Campbell-Ewald. “From a very young age, I can remember visiting the Leo Burnett office and casually chatting with the amazing creative people who worked on iconic advertising campaigns featuring Tony the Tiger, The Pillsbury Dough Boy and The Jolly Green Giant. I loved the creative intelligence of those guys and I wanted to emulate them,” says Bright Gilhuly.
“My Dad took me to photo shoots, car shows, recording sessions and all sorts of other advertising ‘field trips.’ I went on my first printing press check when I was about nine years old and he taught me how to look for CMYK color balance and registration. To this day, I still love the smell of real ink. I probably couldn’t escape from the world of marketing and advertising even if I tried — I think it’s just in my blood.”
As a young teen, school music teachers began encouraging Bright Gilhuly to study classical voice because they felt she had a natural ability in vocal performance; it was that encouragement that led her to pursue a classical Vocal Performance degree at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. Two years into her college career, a cruise ship producer recruited her as a performer on one of his ships and she left college to pursue a career as a professional performer at age nineteen. “I regret that I didn’t complete my degree, but I learned a tremendous amount of real life skills by going out on my own at such a young age and, believe it or not, I was able to apply all of my performance skills to develop a successful career in marketing. Just like performing, developing effective marketing and advertising messaging is all about creating the right appeal for a designated target audience. I understand audience appeal at a core level because of my stage background, early exposure to great advertising, as well as my career experience. Whether it’s a social media campaign, a printed piece of collateral, or a live performance, audience appeal is everything.”
An active community leader, Bright Gilhuly currently holds the seat of VP of Public Relations for “Toast of the Coast,” club number 6544 of Toastmasters International, and is an active member of the Rotary International. Still a professional singer, Amy is known locally as a vocalist under her maiden name, Amy Bright; she is the front vocalist and marketing director of the Naples Big Band, a non-profit performance organization providing scholarship money to high school music programs, and is often a guest- or substitute-vocalist for musical groups such as The Naples Concert Band, The Blu-Tones Retro Rock and Roll Show, The Danny Morgan Band and several other duos and bands all over southwest Florida under her DBA name, “Canary for Hire.”
Established in 1992, AdSource develops and implements creative marketing strategies for businesses locally and throughout the eastern United States.  For more information, please call 239-495-0007 or www.adsource.us.
